OMER. Traditional Blond is a top-fermented beer with a secondary fermentation in the bottle, brewed according to a traditional recipe. It contains carefully selected ingredients, such as high-quality malted barley from the Loire region (France) and three varieties of aromatic hops from the Czec Republic, Slovenia and Germany. OMER. is a full flavoured beer with a fruity aroma and a subtle bitterness.

Since 1892, each brewer has been called Omer from father to son, for five generations.

The Vander Ghinste family has been brewing since 1892 in the idyllic village of Bellegem with craftsmanship, knowledge and patience as the main ingredients of the brewing process. OMER. Traditional Blond goes through a process of no less than 2 months before the beer arrives at your doorstep.

THE BREWING PROCESS

The combination of the barley malt, the special yeast and the carefully selected hops, create a refined specialty beer of 8% alcohol, with a full taste and a slightly bitter aftertaste.

Malt

Our master brewers carefully select the highest quality malts from the Loire region (France). This specific barley malt gives OMER. its characteristic full taste.

Hops

While boiling the wort, our master brewers add 3 aromatic hops from the Czech Republic, Slovenia and Germany. The hops provide a fine bitterness and form a beautiful, full and stable head.

Yeast

The yeast of OMER. has a fruity and full-bodied character. Pure in its simplicity, the yeast gives its unique flavour to the golden yellow beer. Besides adding flavour, yeast also ensures that the natural sugars are converted into alcohol and CO2. The entire main fermentation process takes 4-5 days at room temperature.

Time

Before the beer is bottled, it remains in the lagering cellar for 3 weeks. After bottling, there is a secondary fermentation in the bottle for 2 weeks in warm rooms. Finally, the beer rests at room temperature for another 2 weeks.

THE POURING RITUAL

Store your bottle of OMER. cool and upright, so the yeast at the bottom doesn't mix up with the rest of the beer.

Grab a cold bottle of OMER. (5°C) and use a clean, dry OMER. glass.

Pour slowly at a45° angle along the sides of the glass.

Once half full, slowly tilt the glass upwards to form the desired foam. Keep 1-2 cm below the edge of the glass.

Keep 1 cm of the beer in the bottle (= yeast). Enjoy your delicious OMER.!
